Welcome!
“The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known to suffer, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths.” — Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Major life changes can have a big impact on our mental health. Losing a job, the death of a loved one, ending a relationship, becoming a parent, moving countries…There are times in life when we feel overwhelmed, hopeless, lonely, anxious. The experience of loss and the sense of hopelessness calls for approaches that help people to regain their strengths, rebuild self-esteem and retake control over their lives. It is important to recognize when it’s time to seek help, to make some adjustments, and to begin a therapeutic journey. Here you will find a safe space where you can explore your feelings and emotions. Together, we can find effective ways to overcome common barriers and to navigate transitions. My main focus is to promote emotional and mental health, to help you develop self-awareness, to improve coping skills to face challenges, and to establish goal-focused approaches towards change. After experiencing loss myself, I understand how these traumatic experiences can affect your overall health and how feeling accompanied and understood in the process is crucial for healing.
About me
I was born in Mexico City. I have always been passionate about helping others, that is what prompted me to get a degree in Psychology at the Ibero-American University (UIA). After I got married 18 years ago, I moved to the U.S. Since then, I have been working for different organizations that help vulnerable populations. Listening to these people’s needs, tragic life experiences, and trauma, made me realize there is a huge need for bilingual therapists in this country. That is what prompted me to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACMHC) at Houston Christian University.
Education
I earned my Bachelor in Psychology from the Ibero-American University (UIA) in Mexico City. I am currently a student at Houston Christian University soon to graduate from a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I provide therapy in English and Spanish.
